Posted 01/05/2012 – Artspace seeks Intern

Artspace is one of 7 semi-finalist organizations for the ArtTable Summer Mentored Internship for Diversity in the Visual Arts Professions.   The 8-week position carries a $3,000 stipend and is open to a college senior, graduate student, or recently graduated woman student from an ethnic, racial, or cultural background that is underrepresented in the visual arts. ArtTable will fund up to 5 host placements, selecting those where there is greatest interest expressed by intern applicants. That’s where I hope you can help.

If you know a student or emerging visual arts professional who would qualify and who can access summer housing in the Connecticut/New Haven area, I hope you will encourage her to apply for the Artspace job. It’s an opportunity which offers a high level of responsibility and creativity.  The other placements, including at the Bass Museum, Site Santa Fe, and the Kemper Museum involve equally challenging projects. We are really pleased to be in such good company, but naturally hope you’ll steer any logical candidates to us in New Haven.

The positions are described in detail on the application site:

The deadline to apply is Feb 10. THANK YOU!
